Hamilton’s leading eye care specialists
Your vision is our vision
Our vision is to be the eyecare practice of choice in New Zealand, chosen for its world-class patient care and innovation.
Our practice
Opened in July 1969, Paul and Lynette Rose quickly established Rose Optometry as an integral part of the Frankton community. Moving to our existing location at 38 Lake Rd in the early 1980's – a purpose-built premise which has been our home ever since. Although no longer a partner, Paul Rose established a legacy within which we continue as his specialty in Keratoconus detection and care led him to design the Rose K lens providing a contact lens solution to the treatment of Keratoconus. The Rose K is now the most popular lens in the world for Keratoconus patients and is available in over 90 countries worldwide. Paul was recognised for his services to optometry and eye disease globally by being awarded a CNZM. He is the first ophthalmic professional in New Zealand to receive this award.
In the early 1980's Rose Optometry was joined by a new optometrist called Simon Rose (coincidentally no relation to Paul's). Simon soon became a business partner with Paul and although now no longer a shareholder in Rose Optometry we are fortunate to still enjoy Simons leadership. He has a very loyal clientele – a lot of whom have been his patients since he began.
